Ingredients

1cup neutral tasting spirit (atleast 35% ABV)

3-4 Amara Spices Vanilla beans

Preparation

  1. Cut Amara Spices Vanilla beans lengthwise, exposing the seeds and pulp.

  2. Place the split Vanilla beans in a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Pour the spirit over the Vanilla beans, making sure they're completely submerged.

  3. Store the jar in a cool, dark place. Allow the mixture to steep and infuse for atleast 4-6 weeks, shaking the jar occasionally. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.

  4. After the infusion period, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or a coffee filter into another clean glass jar. Discard the Vanilla beans or reserve them for another use.

  5. Transfer the Vanilla extract to a smaller glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Store in a cool, dark place.
